Southwest Products today introduced its newly-developed QP 50 generator which offers environmentally-friendly and extremely quiet operation. The generator is SWP’s first Tier 4 Final mobile generator and is currently in final testing and will be launched at the upcoming PowerGen International show in December 2015.
The new mobile diesel generator, developed in-house by SWP’s expert engineering team, comes standard with a highly dependable Isuzu engine and is built to operate effectively in all types of terrain and harsh environments.
Construction sites, event managers and commercial operators needing reliable mobile power solutions will benefit from the QP 50’s durable mid-range power generation. The generator is designed to provide high endurance, long run times and lengthier service intervals to power operators’ businesses with maximum uptime.
Sound tests indicate that that the QP 50 will be one of the quietest generators in its power node available on the market today with a sound dBA of 64. The generator will be manufactured in the U.S. at SWP’s Surprise, Ariz. manufacturing facility.
The generator’s Isuzu 4LE2X engine provides greater efficiency and cleaner burning operation than competitors in the same power node. The engine complies with EPA Tier 4 Final emissions standards, the highest level of emissions compliance, and offers operators environmentally-friendly power wherever it’s needed.
“The QP 50 generator offers the construction industry the opportunity to power their job sites with greater efficiency while remaining environmentally conscious,” said Paul Hecker, director of engineering at Southwest Products. “It’s exceptionally quiet and heavy duty operation is sure to make the QP 50 a leader in its power node. We’re proud to offer our first Tier 4 Final product in our mobile generator line with more environmentally friendly products coming soon from SWP.”
Development of the generator took nearly a year. After several phases of design, the SWP engineering team underwent intricate reworking of the Isuzu engines to maximize the QP 50’s operating output.
The QP 50 offers a standby rating of 50 kVA/40 kW and a prime rating of 45 kVA/36 kW and has features such as a lockable enclosure and oversized alternator for superior motor starting.
The QP-50 will be unveiled at the world’s largest power generation event, the Power-Gen International trade show, Dec. 8-10 in Las Vegas at booth 4816.
