As production and sales of SWP vehicles and power generation equipment continues to expand across the country, the company recently added its first selection of alternative fuel industrial engines produced by Power Solutions International (PSI).
Illinois-based PSI is one of the largest providers of industrial fuel-flexible engines in North America. PSI offers a full series high-performance, low-emission engines that can run on a variety of fuels including natural gas, propane, biogas, gasoline, or hybrid systems. They produce powertrain solutions for original equipment manufacturers for markets such as material handling, mining, product delivery, power generation, agriculture, aircraft ground support, and construction.
SWP now offers the full family of PSI industrial engines ranging from .97 up to 8.8 liters of displacement, with many of the engines reporting gains of 20 percent more power and 15 percent more efficiency over similar size older gas engines. The engines’ high flow head creates faster burn to improve the efficiency and reduce emissions. The tuned long-runner intake manifold provides higher torque while the special air gap design keeps engine air cooler to improve efficiency. These engines are also produced with dry type industrial air cleaners for better emissions.
“For several years we had been considering adding new engine products that could help us meet the demands of every application, including our power generators, and also give our customers more environmentally-friendly fuel options,” said Kirk Swanson, Vice President of the SWP Power Division.
“With PSI becoming a top leader in engineering and manufacturing emissions-certified, alternative fuel engines in recent years, we realized their alternative fuel engines would bring additional benefits to our current and future customers.”
With comprehensive in-house engineering and extensive emissions expertise, as well as streamlined manufacturing processes, PSI is able to provide their higher-efficiency, quality industrial engines on tight schedules to meet the demands of a variety of industrial and on-road markets. SWP welcomes this opportunity to expand their product selections while helping customers reduce their fuel costs and increase the efficiency of their equipment and vehicles.
